When researching similar products in the horror genre I watched numerous amounts of trailers for horror films in order to give ideas for a narrative and style of horror. The trailers for Psycho and for Devil were extremely enlightening and helped to give me ideas. For example the use of the Psycho being in black and white is extremely old fashioned however I believe that it is perfectly suited for the horror genre. Secondly the mise en scene of an elevator in Devil is also a great idea as viewers are commonly afraid of small places and this claustrophobia can help in creating a scare factor to our horror product. Therefore using this research we would look to edit all of our footage so that it is in black and white and maybe look to incorporate an elevator into our scene in order to intensify horror for our audience.
